Exercises....

I'm referring to the ones for your mind and your creative writing--not your hands.  Although if you do an immense amount of writing, whether on paper or computer, you do need to take care of them.

1.  Write something every day.  Anything.  Describe a simple act in detail.  If you

can help others see what you do, then you've created the image.  Perfect!

2.  Sit on a quiet bench, or in the mall and take notes about people.  What they're

wearing, how they're behaving.   These are characters in the making.  Who says

that you have to start from scratch in creating fictional characters.  This makes

     them more real.

3.  Real life is sometimes just as exciting as utter fantasy.  Don't second guess your

life either.  What's to say that your trip to the mall, and never actually buying

anything can't be considered exciting.  Some people would call you crazy for

such behavior.  :)  Another might read it and say...."You have a mall 10 minutes

away from you?  Lucky."  Sitcoms are based on real life.
